Change Management– developing a unified, high-performance corporate culture

Here are some examples of the work I have undertaken in this field.

Culture change:

  • Change manager for international NGO in Middle East (Multiple departments with 700 staff from 70 countries). This organisation was interested in changing the overall organisational culture. To assist the board and senior management I analysed the strengths and weaknesses in the current culture, identified points of intervention, and developed strategies and training for enacting the desired changes. Key to this project were minimising cynicism and resistance to change, and enlisting key people to support the implementation.

Structural change:

  • Change management program for Brisbane City Council (Project won Lord Mayor’s prize). The purpose of this project was to introduce new software and processes. I worked with a business analyst and local managers to identify the existing processes. I then took them through a process to develop an action plan and timeline for introducing the new procedures. Key to this process was ongoing communication to reduce fears and resistance based on misinformation about the new software and the possibility of downsizing staff.
